Add people to your organization in Podz

Program software only works when the people layer is trustworthy. Before you staff an event or assign a commitment, coordinators need one place to add students, volunteers, and staff — without exporting CSVs or duplicating names across tools.

What the organization roster is for

In Podz, the organization directory is the source of truth for who belongs to your program. Event rosters, commitment copies, and integrations like Slack all reference these people records. Getting the directory right early prevents "who is Jamie?" moments mid-season.

Watch: add someone new in under a minute

From People in the sidebar: search, create a new person, and they appear on the org roster immediately.

Step-by-step (matches the video)

  • Open People from the sidebar to view the organization roster.
  • Use the search-or-add field to type a name that is not in the directory yet.
  • Choose Create to add them in one click — no separate import required for a single person.
  • Confirm they appear on the roster; they are now available for events and commitments.

What to do next

Once a few people are in the directory, schedule an organization event and enroll participants from that roster. The next tutorials in this series cover events, event rosters, and Event Hub check-in.
